Put Ohio’s voter ID requirement in the Constitution

Issue 3 is simple: One person, one vote, one ID. Ohio already requires photo ID to vote in person. Issue 3 locks that commonsense safeguard into our Constitution, where politicians can’t simply undo it and only Ohio voters can change it. Ohio's elections belong to Ohioans, and Issue 3 locks that in. Vote yes on Issue 3.

Commonsense Voter ID

You show ID to cash a check, rent a hotel room, or buy a beer. Proving who you are before you help choose a Governor or a U.S. Senator isn’t extreme. It’s obvious.
Ohio’s photo ID is FREE. Every Ohioan 17 and older gets one at no cost. Free renewals, free replacements. No fee, no barrier, no excuse.
Ohio has required photo ID to vote for years. The 2024 general election brought the second-highest voter turnout in state history, with photo ID in full effect.
More than eight-in-ten Americans back voter ID. Republicans, Independents, and a majority of Democrats support it. Requiring a valid ID to vote isn’t the extreme position. Blocking it is.

The Left Never Stops Coming For Voter ID

Democrats block voter ID every time it reaches the U.S. Senate floor. Senator Jon Husted worked to lock photo ID into federal law through the SAVE America Act, and Senate Democrats held his amendment to 53 votes, seven short of the 60 it needed, eleven days after their own leader said Democrats support voter ID. Not one Democrat voted for it, and they blocked his standalone bill twice more. (U.S. Senate)
Not one Democrat in the Ohio legislature voted to put Issue 3 on the ballot. They didn’t just oppose voter ID. They didn’t want Ohioans to get a say at all.
Democrat Amy Acton’s runningmate, David Pepper, has been a leading liberal voice against voter ID laws. He’s testified against voter integrity measures at the Statehouse and has been a vocal opponent of the SAVE America Act since its introduction.
The ACLU of Ohio, the state arm of a national operation that fights voter ID laws across the country, testified against Issue 3 before it ever reached the ballot. Against a law, they only have to win once. Against our Constitution, they have to beat every voter in Ohio.
Today, voter ID is law. But one session, one liberal majority and it’s gone. Issue 3 protects voter ID by enshrining it in our state constitution.

Only Ohioans Should Decide Ohio’s Elections

Issue 3 makes sure the person casting the ballot is the person on the rolls. You prove you are who you say you are, every time you vote.
Your legitimate vote should never be canceled out. Not by a duplicate, not by a mistake, and not by a person who was never eligible to cast it.
Ohio’s elections belong to Ohioans, not to activist lawyers who sue to weaken our laws, and not to a future legislature that decides voter ID is inconvenient.
One person. One vote. One ID.

Voter ID works in Ohio. Issue 3 makes sure no politician can take it away. Lock it in. Vote YES on Issue 3.
