Amy Acton Is Too Liberal For Ohio

“The Most Open-Door Governor There Is” (WSYX ABC 6)

• On September 16, in the same conversation with reporters where she addressed her refusal to debate, she promised to be “the most open-door governor there is.” Hilarious.
• We are hearing from Ohioans who attend her events that the loudspeaker ahead of the event announces that anyone in the audience cannot take photos or videos. If you are at one of her events and hear it, note the date and the place and send it to us.
• On September 5 in Harrison, a citizen with a camera asked her why she keeps declining to debate. Her staff rushed in to block him and told him “No photos, no videos,” and then “no pictures, no interviews.” She did not answer his question.
• An open door does not come with a staffer saying no pictures.

Amy Acton’s Filings Show 58 Data Center Companies (Ohio Ethics Commission)

• Her own public disclosure filing lists 34 companies that own, operate, service or supply data centers, including four that own the buildings themselves and six power companies.
• David Pepper’s filing lists 36 of these companies, including six that own the buildings themselves.
• Together the two filings show 58 data center related companies, twelve of which appear on both, and that count comes straight off the filings.
• On September 12 News 5 Cleveland was first to report data center holdings on her filing. On September 16 the Columbus Dispatch got her campaign’s answer, which is that she reported dozens of individual stocks as recently as April 6 and, according to her campaign, sold all of them on April 10, days after she filed.

She Refused Two Debates (Toledo Blade)

• By September 2, CNN and WLWT had invited both candidates to debate. Vivek Ramaswamy accepted both, and her spokeswoman said she “won’t.”
• Her campaign’s statement said her “focus is on talking with Ohioans,” and never said whether she would debate.
• The Toledo Blade editorial board, no friend of ours, wrote: “If Amy Acton doesn’t have the skill set to handle a debate, she should never have run for governor of Ohio.”
• Vivek said it plainly: “If Acton can’t debate, she certainly can’t lead the state.”
• On September 16 she told reporters, “I’ll absolutely always answer to Ohioans.” She can start by answering them on a debate stage.

The Hypocrisy Is a Pattern (Columbus Dispatch)

• Team Vivek’s own Evan Machan said it best when he told the Columbus Dispatch: “Her hypocrisy is becoming a pattern: say whatever it takes to get elected and hope Ohioans don’t notice the truth.”
• On June 25, 2025, on camera at the City Club of Cleveland, she compared masked federal immigration officers to the Ku Klux Klan. On August 25, 2026, she took a police union’s endorsement and said Ohio police should work with ICE.
• On qualified immunity, the activists who ran the petition to end it say she signed it. She then promised the Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association she would not support the ballot issue to end it, so both audiences heard exactly what they wanted.
• cleveland.com editor Chris Quinn, who thinks her turn on ICE went too far, landed on the same word when he said, “I do think you need to stand for something. And integrity matters.”

She Won’t Debate, and She Won’t Show Up (Signal Ohio)

• September 2. CNN and WLWT invited both candidates to debate. Vivek Ramaswamy accepted both and challenged her to join him. Her campaign’s answer: “Dr. Acton’s focus is on talking with Ohioans, not platforming a scam artist who spreads baseless lies about her and her family.” That is a no.
• That night he said he accepted a third invitation on live TV, and posted: “If Acton can’t debate, she certainly can’t lead the state.”
• The Toledo Blade editorial board, not us, wrote the verdict on Sunday: “Unless Dr. Acton is exceptionally weak, turning down a national debate platform on CNN and a statewide broadcast debate originating in Cincinnati make no political sense.” And the last line of the editorial: “If Amy Acton doesn’t have the skill set to handle a debate, she should never have run for governor of Ohio.”
• No public campaign appearance has been reported for her since Monday’s parade in Cleveland. Tuesday through Friday, September 8 to 11: one sit-down with the Statehouse News Bureau, two press releases, and a new attack ad. Her next public stop listed anywhere is Monday in Toledo.
• Over Labor Day weekend Vivek Ramaswamy worked the Labor Day Bash on Buckeye Lake, the Great Geauga County Fair, and the Toledo Labor Day Parade beside Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling. Three invitations to debate, and he said yes to every one.

State Workers Say She Fell Apart on the Job (Washington Examiner)

• September 9. The Washington Examiner reported that five current and former state government workers, including staffers from the Ohio Department of Health, the governor’s office, and a career civil servant, described how she handled the job. They spoke anonymously, and her campaign answered with an attack on Vivek instead of a denial of a single specific. Read the whole thing.
• One former administration staffer says they found her huddled knees-to-chest on a hallway floor before a daily COVID planning meeting and had to coax her into the room: “Hey, we need you in the room now. We gotta go.” A career civil servant: “Every time I saw her in the halls, she was either crying, in tears, on the verge of, or looking like she had just gotten done crying.” Two months into the job, before her 2019 budget testimony, a health department staffer says she was crying in a bathroom saying “I can’t do this.”
• One former staffer put it this way: “In the governor’s office, it always talked about that she was struggling to keep up with the work and to handle the pressure, so she would disappear.” And the next morning, another former staffer said: “She did no-call, no-show to work yesterday, and today, everybody was just pretending that that didn’t occur.”
• June 2020. When the order to reopen Ohio’s county fairs was put in front of her, she called it “the final straw” and quit as Health Director rather than sign it. Given the chance to reopen Ohio’s fairs, she walked away.

Lying About the Police Reports, and Now About Everything (NBC News)

• August 17, 2019. Her own daughter called 911. The call log reads “mom has been drinking and throwing things” and the Bexley police report says Acton told officers she had been drinking and had taken “an unknown amount of prescription drugs”, that she pulled a mirror off the wall and shattered it, and that she refused a medic’s advice to go to the hospital.
• The story changed when she needed it to. Her campaign said she “bumped into a wall hanging.” A wall hanging does not shatter. Her running mate David Pepper said “someone” called the police. The facts? It was her own daughter. Her husband now says “I had too much to drink while Amy only had one drink.” The police report, written that night, adds what he leaves out: she also told officers she had taken an unknown amount of prescription drugs.
• 2013. Police were called to her home once before, and her daughter placed that call too.

She Called Them the Klan, Now She Wants Their Vote (cleveland.com)

• Even The Plain Dealer (a Democrat super PAC disguised as a paper) is calling her out. cleveland.com, August 27: “Amy Acton wants Republican votes. Her embrace of ICE goes much too far.” On the paper’s Today in Ohio podcast, Editorial Board member Lisa Garvin said it plainly: “I feel like it’s damage control, quite personally.” Host and Editor Chris Quinn: “I know she wants to win. I know she wants to get the votes, but character matters.” And the closer: “I do think you need to stand for something. And integrity matters.” The Plain Dealer is questioning her integrity. So are we.
• June 25, 2025. On camera, in her own words, Acton compared masked law enforcement to the Ku Klux Klan. No apology has ever come.
• August 25, 2026. Fourteen months later, at an event, she said local police should assist ICE: “We always work with the federal law enforcement, and we will do so, whatever it takes to keep Ohioans safe.”
• Qualified immunity? She physically signed the petition to end it. Activists say she signed “on multiple times.” Last week she promised she would keep it. Both audiences heard exactly what they wanted. Both cannot be true. As the Plain Dealer said, “integrity matters.”
• Her own base said it out loud: “She should have told the truth. She could have won this race, but now she has isolated voters.” Another organizer: “Talk about blowing a layup.”
• The FOP, the largest police organization in the state, and 67 sheriffs still stand with Vivek.

Recalling the Two Police Reports (NBC News)

• June 16, 2013. Bexley police come to Acton’s home responding to her teenage daughter’s call. August 17, 2019. The same daughter, now grown, calls 911: “mom has been drinking and throwing things and breaking glass.” Officers found she had ripped a mirror off the wall, shattering the glass. She told police she had been drinking and had taken “an unknown amount of prescription drugs.” She was about to drive off before her husband stopped her.
• The story changed when she needed it to. Her campaign claimed she “bumped into a wall hanging.” David Pepper went on record guessing “I think someone called because they believed that Dr. Acton was under threat.” It was her own daughter. Read the reports. They tell the real truth. And Ohio voters deserve facts, not cover-ups.

Joe Biden “Lid” (10TV)

• Amy Acton’s campaign calendar and the lack of voters at her events tell the story. Earlier this month, she held one roundtable with four people, did not talk to voters, and her campaign admitted there was nothing else scheduled all week. This is Joe Biden 2.0. A basement campaign run by handlers. This last week, Monday through Friday, Amy Acton only had three events. She is losing steam and can’t even talk to Ohio voters as we approach 60 days to the election.
• Once again, this is a pattern. Earlier in August we documented a “rally” in Toledo and when the event capped, she left without taking a single question from reporters or from the Ohioans in the room. The same week, she was caught on a hot mic saying “open for questions.” Her handlers turned her away from the audience. Her own staff does not trust her off the script. Ask her at every stop (if she’s still scheduling events). Why won’t she talk to Ohio voters?

DSAmy Acton: Liberal Trojan Horse (Breitbart)

• Amy Acton’s attempting to run on a moderate campaign. Grant records from her Columbus Foundation years show $125,000 to CAIR Ohio (a known terrorist organization), $1,077,915 to the ACLU of Ohio, and $516,617 to Planned Parenthood. All of it on her watch.
• She cannot hold the middle. She cannot hold the left. One comment on girls’ sports has her own base calling her a betrayer. Ask her at every stop, and do not let her dodge it. Does she support the DSA? Its policies? Its leaders?

She Was the Leader of Ohio’s COVID Response, and She Said So (Ohio Channel)

• The Dayton Daily News, March 16, 2020: “It is Acton’s signature on orders prohibiting gatherings of 100 or more people in public and shutting down restaurants and bars statewide.” Not DeWine’s. Hers.
• March 9, 2020, on state video, she told Ohioans what “Dr. Fauci just said to me on a phone call.” A week later: “We’re following what the scientists are saying. Listen to what Dr. Fauci said.” She never hid whose playbook it was.
• In October 2023 she confirmed she was personally involved in drafting the emergency orders to shut down Ohio. In October 2023 she defended the broad power she had to shut down the economy. She is not running from it. She is running on it.
• And now – just like Anthony Fauci is pelading the fifth in DC – Amy Acton is pleading the fifth in Ohio. She’s hiding from voters and refusing to take questions at her events unless she’s with a “roundtable” of four people who absolutely agree with her.

Incompetence and Judgment

• January 2020: she compared COVID to the flu and told Ohioans the flu was the greater risk. “Statistically, you’re much more likely to get the flu,” she said. Two months later she closed the state.
• And in September 2025 she told a podcast “the mortality rate was 50%.”

Fudging the Numbers and Hiding the Results

• March 2020: Ohio stopped publishing negative test results, one of only a handful of states to do it. Shrink the denominator and the positive rate looks worse. Acton’s answer: “We’re only getting positives reported to us.”
• April 2020: her department refused to release COVID deaths in nursing homes — not by facility, not even a statewide total — with no legal justification given. The Columbus Dispatch called it secrecy. Families were told nothing.
• When Ohioans objected, she blamed them: “The hardest thing we face is people not believing.” Nearly 700,000 Ohioans were out of work that week.

Power Grab, Overreach, and a Cancelled Election (Director’s Order)

• March 16, 2020. A Franklin County judge rejected the request to postpone Ohio’s primary, saying he would not “rewrite the law.” At 10:15 p.m., Acton ordered every polling place in Ohio closed as a health emergency. “Ohio marked St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday with no parades and no primary election over fears of the coronavirus. Health Director Dr. Amy Acton issued an order late Monday shutting down polls Tuesday.”
• She signed the stay-at-home order that closed businesses, gyms, theaters, stadiums, arenas, schoolsand even playgrounds. She told Ohioans 65 and older not to leave home “unless absolutely necessary.” She backed the mask mandate on employers and customers.
• Ohioans sued. Rock House Fitness. Pengov. Bokicic. Renz. A state common pleas court judge granted an injunction against her orders. Small businesses had to go to court to reopen — against their own health director.
• She said reopening the economy would have violated her oath to do no harm. She did the harm anyway: 700,000 out of work, a school year lost, and a generation of Ohio kids still behind.

She Would Do It Again (WCBE)

• April 2020: “Things will not go back to the way they were used to.” She was right about one thing. Ohio is still paying for it.
• And the movement that funded her is the movement that defends him. 314 Action — the PAC that ran “STAND WITH DR. ANTHONY FAUCI!” and defended him at his Senate hearing last month — gave Amy Acton $5,000.
• Ask her at every stop: does she stand by the 50 percent mortality rate? By cancelling an entire election and taking away your right to vote? By hiding the nursing home deaths or the truth about the positive infection rates of COVID? Does she stand by any of it?
• Amy Acton wants the ability to shutdown the state with no oversight. She expressed frustration with the legislature that clawed back from her after her abuses. We need governors and strong AGs to and strong people back in office so that we can reestablish the things that got us here.”

Unstable Judgment: The Timeline Police Wrote (NBC News)

• June 16, 2013. Bexley police come to Acton’s home responding to her teenage daughter’s call. She thought her parents, Amy Acton and her first husband Doug Beech, were going to fight. That is report number one.
• August 17, 2019. The same daughter calls 911: “mom has been drinking and throwing things and breaking glass daughter has left house and heading to her dads.” Officers found the mirror. Acton had ripped it off the wall, shattering the glass. She told police she had been drinking. She had taken “an unknown amount of prescription drugs.” And she was about to drive away under the influence of drugs and alcohol, her second husband, Eric Acton, is the one who stopped her.
• A medic responded to the scene and Acton – who is a physician - refused the advice to go to the hospital. Months later she was on television telling every Ohioan to follow her and Dr. Fauci’s flawed medical advice. The same advisers that gave us COVID-19 “Spewing Lies.” claiming mortality rates as 50%.

The Story Changed When She Needed It To

• We’re asking Ohioans to read the police report and the 911 call from 2019 where the facts are plainly written. Now that Amy is running a campaign for Governor, she is pushing her allies to run to the press and muddy the waters. Read the reports, they tell the real truth. And Ohio voters deserve facts, not cover-ups.
• The first example is the mirror. The report says she “pulled it down, shattering the glass.” Her daughter said “throwing things and breaking glass.” Her campaign said she “bumped into a wall hanging.” Then her running mate, failed former ODP Chair David Pepper, called this a simple argument between spouses and claimed a concerned neighbor likely called the police fearing for Amy’s safety. A wall hanging does not shatter. The pills? The report states: “An unknown amount” that night. Now her lies state she took a “Routine” amount of migraine medicine.
• How about who started it. The Acton Campaign’s 2026 version has her husband going on record to say that he drank too much and started the fight, and that Amy tried to calm it down and then went to bed. The official police report says Acton was awak when the police arrived and refused to go to the hospital after taking an unknown amount of prescription drugs.
• Who should Ohioans believe? A politician and her political operatives or the Bexley police who responded to these calls?

Instability Is the National Democrat Brand

• The instability is not just Acton. It is the whole party. The Democrat Socialists of America are taking over the national Democrat Party. New York. Michigan. Main. Acton wants to lead that same party here in Ohio. She is not the exception to it. She is a cog in its wheel.
• She’s attempting to convince Ohioans she’s a moderate. We have the receipts that say otherwise. Grant records from her Columbus Foundation years show $125,000 to CAIR Ohio, $1,077,915 to the ACLU of Ohio, and $516,617 to Planned Parenthood. All of it on her watch.

• The Columbus Dispatch reported on that pappter that Amy Acton has not held a job longer than 18 months since 2017. That is the record she brings to a four-year contract with Ohio.
• Ohio Department of Health, 2019 to 2020. Under 16 months as Ohio’s covid bureaucrat. She quit in June 2020 rather than sign the order to reopen Ohio’s county fairs. She called it “the final straw”. Two months later she left state service for good. Two resignations in one summer.
• The Columbus Foundation, 2020 to 2021. About five months as director of Kind Columbus. She left in February 2021 to look at a Senate run. She never ran.
• RAPID 5, 2022 to 2023. President and CEO for about a year. Then gone. Our question to that? Governor is a four-year job with no exit ramp. What does Amy Acton do?

Why Isn’t She Taking Questions From Ohio Voters? (13abc)

• The pattern made the news last week: Acton held a rally in Toledo and left without taking questions — from reporters or from the Ohioans in the room. Public appearances, yes. Public accountability, no. She relies on her running mate, trust fund baby David Pepper, to hold press conferences for her.
• She was caught on a hot mic asking to take questions — and her own handlers turned her away from the audience to shield her. Even her staff doesn’t trust her off the script — they must know she’s unfit to lead.
• This is Joe Biden 2.0 — a basement campaign run by handlers and protected by the liberal mainstream media. Where is she this week? At a private fundraiser where the address is only provided upon RSVP. Donors get the location; voters get nothing.
• Meanwhile, Vivek is everywhere — all 88 counties visited in the campaign’s first 11 months, county fair after county fair, the State Fair — working the midways and meeting with Ohioans where they are, even talking to local Democrat parties at their booths. • Remember where she went after quitting state service: back to the Columbus Foundation as director of Kindness Columbus(…what does that even mean?)— while the foundation’s money went where her politics point. $125,000 to CAIR Ohio — a group with alleged terror ties that recently dumped over $100,000 into Michigan’s El-Sayed Senate campaign. • That’s not a moderate’s record; it’s a progressive funder’s. Amy Acton is way too liberal for Ohio. Hiding is the strategy and we cannot let up.

Amy Acton Doesn’t Have Answers Ohioans Support (WLWT)

• Last week’s data center split told the whole story. Vivek released a real plan built for working Ohioans: if a data center comes to your community, your home electric bill goes away, your property taxes go down, and air and water standards hold without exception — codified into law.
• Amy’s plan? A “conditional moratorium.” What does that mean for Ohio families, jobs, or electric bills? Nothing. It’s a cop-out answer dressed up as policy — no substance behind it.
• That’s the pattern with her: no questions, no answers, no substance, no backbone. Ohioans support leaders who show up with a plan.

Given the Chance to Reopen Ohio’s Fairs, She Quit Instead (NBC4)

• Remember what August means in Ohio: fair season. As Health Director, Amy Acton signed the orders that closed our businesses, our schools, our nursing homes, and our county fairs. When the order in front of her was the one reopening the fairs, she refused to sign it.
• Acton called the fair-reopening order “the final straw,” and she resigned as Health Director in June 2020 rather than put her name on it.
• The fairs were closed: 4-H kids were locked out of the show rings they'd worked all year for, Ohio's Ag community had nowhere to show its work, family businesses and workers were left jobless, and neighbors who gather every summer were told to stay home.

Her Departure Told Ohio Exactly Who She Is (Statehouse News Bureau)

• When she couldn’t get her way on the fairs, she quit as health director. When the advisory role created just for her wasn’t enough, she quit that too.
• Mark the date with us: August 4, 2020. Acton walks away from state service entirely, just two months after quitting as Health Director. Two resignations in one summer.
• And where did she land? She went back to the Columbus Foundation as director of Kindness Columbus which was aimed to spread kindness to help residents navigate the fearful environment she created while director of the Department of Health.
• This follows her time at the Foundation where her work included:— “While Democrat Amy Acton served as a grants manager at the Columbus Foundation, records show the foundation administered millions of dollars in 2017 and 2018 to organizations involved in abortion services, civil liberties litigation, immigration and refugee services, diversity initiatives, climate activism, and Muslim advocacy.” – Breitbart, 5/12/26
• Acton directed $125,000 to CAIR Ohio, which has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization and called a “front group for Hamas and its support network in the United States.”
• Acton directed over $8 million to climate watchdog group Food & Water Watch.
• Acton directed over $1 million to the ACLU.
• Acton directed over $500,000 to Planned Parenthood.
• That’s who she was and who she continues to be: when Amy Acton can’t get her liberal way, she quits. Does Amy Acton know that Ohio Governor is a four-year job, and there’s no quitting it?

Ohio Is Better Off Since She Quit

• Almost a million jobs were lost when Amy Acton was health director. We’re reminding Ohioans every day that Amy Acton Liberation Day was the day that Ohio could get back to normal. She wanted nothing less than to push Ohio down.
• Six years on, Ohio is working again.
• The Ohio State Fair runs July 29 through August 9, Amy Acton Liberation Day lands right in the middle of it. A fair that draws nearly a million Ohioans went dark in 2020 under Amy Acton’s shutdowns.

Amy Acton Doesn't Support Our Law Enforcement (Remarks from Dr. Amy Acton 6.25.2025)

• Amy Acton compared Ohio’s men and women in law enforcement to the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). This is unacceptable and we need to call it out.
• Acton says that law enforcement are hiding behind “masks” and compared their work protecting Ohio to the work of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).
• Acton is no different than her liberal friends, an anti-cop Democrat that will inflame the public opinion against our men and women who serve.
• These comments make our law enforcement officers and communities less safe.

Money Trail

• While Acton was grants manager at the Columbus Foundation, the foundation moved more than $500,000 to Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio and over $1 million to the ACLU of Ohio.
• While the grants manager, Acton essentially ran the USAID of Ohio. Funding liberal causes wasn't a side effect of the job. It was the job.
• On her watch, the foundation moved more than $500,000 to Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio and over $1 million to the ACLU of Ohio, two of the most liberal organizations in the state.
• The ACLU was and continues to be a driver of the defunding the police movement claiming that defunding the police “will actually make us safer.”
• The ACLU of Ohio is so liberal that it is actually pushing back against Republican lawmakers who are trying to protect children from indecent exposure of drag shows and performances in public spaces. (HB 249)

The Company She Keeps

• Acton's running mate is David Pepper, the failson and former chairman of the Ohio Democrat Party who brought us Nan Whaley in 2022.
• David Pepper was born with a silver spoon in his mouth as the son of a Fortune 500 CEO, Pepper has spent his career in politics telling working Ohioans what's good for them.
• Ohioans rejected her from day one, and one stray comment on girls' sports now has her own base calling her a betrayer.
• She can't hold the middle. She is a wolf in sheep’s clothing masking herself as a moderate in defiance of the national Democrat ultra-liberal machine. The left owns her coalition, from her running mate on down.

The Record in Power

• Acton shuttered businesses, closed schools, and locked church doors across Ohio. Small businesses had to sue their own government to reopen, and Ohio courts blocked her orders.
• Ohio's kids played their grade school seasons in front of empty stands and stadiums while professional teams played in front of cardboard cutout fans.
• She fought to keep county fairs closed while 4-H kids waited. When the Legislature pushed to reopen them, she called it the final straw and quit.
