Chardon's America 250 Celebration is a multi-day community event running July 1-5, 2026.Wednesday, July 1: Ohio Goes to the Movies: The GooniesThursday, July 2: History lecture by Dr. Bari Oyler Stith at Geauga Theater, followed by a children's production of Tom SawyerFriday, July 3: Polka band performance and fireworksSaturday, July 4: Old Glory Day with parade, courthouse dedication, time capsule ceremony, food and activitiesSunday, July 5: Community gathering with food, state activities, and live musicFree and open to the public.

Hamilton County officials will gather on the steps of the Hamilton County Courthouse for the County's first-ever America 250-Ohio Flag-Raising Ceremony, kicking off local celebrations commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The ceremony will recognize the nation's upcoming semiquincentennial and highlight Hamilton County's participation in America 250-Ohio Communities initiative. The event will include a ceremonial raising of the America 250-Ohio Community flag and a public reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Create your own unique t-shirt at the Milton-Union Public Library to celebrate America250. All dye is supplied, but please bring your own shirt. All ages welcome.

A one-night-one concert celebrating America's 250th birthday and saluting Veterans and active-duty service members, featuring performances by country superstars Post Malone and HARDY, a showcase of Nashville's next round of up-and-coming artists hosted by Whiskey Jam, Veteran programming all night, and more. Celebrate Independence Day weekend at Red, White & BOOM!, the Midwest's largest fireworks festival and one of Ohio's most beloved summer traditions. Drawing more than 400,000 visitors each year, this iconic Columbus celebration brings together families, friends, and visitors from across the region for a full day of patriotic festivities.Activities include a community parade, street festival, food vendors, family-friendly activities, and live musical entertainment. Fireworks begin at approximately 10:00 p.m. and last around 25 minutes. The event footprint spans 2.5 square miles including Bicentennial Park, Genoa Park, the Arena District, and riverfront areas. Granville's historic cemetery contains graves of 23 American Revolution veterans—the third-largest collection in Ohio. On July 3rd, members of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), costumed in period military attire, will portray 11 veterans and recount their wartime experiences at headstones throughout the grounds.Five re-enactors will be accompanied by Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) members portraying their spouses in historical dress. The event features children's activities, patriotic merchandise, and photo opportunities with a George Washington portrayal. Self-guided tours with maps are available.Rain date: July 5th. Starting Memorial Day weekend, headstones are decorated with patriotic bows and identification tags through July 4th.
