An outdoor gallery in the historic district featuring 22 historical photographs from the Worthington Historical Society archive that picture Worthington throughout its almost 250 year existence.The exhibition runs May through October as part of Ohio's America 250 celebrations through a partnership between the Worthington Historical Society and Experience Worthington.
The exhibition features original themed artwork alongside books and an expansive photo collage spanning America's history from Pre-Columbus days to present. The artist presents their perspective on significant historical figures and moments, inviting visitors to reflect on their own selections.A dedicated Lincoln section includes a large 3-D art piece that is based upon the Lincoln Memorial.
On display in the Dining Room of the Stan Hywet Manor House, The Families That Built Akron explores the stories of the people whose lives, work, and traditions helped shape Akron. Created in honor of America's 250th anniversary and Akron's bicentennial, the exhibit traces Akron's evolution from canal town to industrial powerhouse through the families who built homes, businesses, communities, and lasting legacies here. From early settlers to recent arrivals, this special exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the people who shaped the city and the ways each of us helps shape our communities today.
The StoryWalk at Goshen Park is changed out every month. The July StoryWalk will feature the book 'The Flag We Love' by Pam Muñoz Ryan. Meet Kelly on Tuesday, June 30 at 6:00 PM to enjoy the story. If unable to attend then, the StoryWalk will be available all month.

Located in the former ticket office at League Park—described as "the oldest standing baseball park in the country"—the museum displays photographs, letters, uniforms, programs, and memorabilia.The collection highlights contributions from Latin and Caribbean leagues, Industrial and Barnstormer leagues, and Negro and Women's leagues that shaped baseball's development.
This community event celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States across Highland County. The central gathering occurs at the historic courthouse in Hillsboro, featuring living historical portrayals at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, free guided courthouse tours (reservation required), and family-friendly educational presentations.Additional activities take place in the villages of Leesburg, Greenfield, and Lynchburg. The day concludes with an evening performance by the Hillsboro Military Band on the courthouse lawn, sponsored by the Highland County Historical Society.

The Battle of Buffington Island, occurring July 19, 1863, represented "the largest Civil War battle in the State of Ohio." Confederate General John H. Morgan led over 1,900 cavalrymen attempting to cross into West Virginia while pursued by Union forces and Navy gunboats. The 950-mile raid began July 2, 1863, and concluded July 26, 1863, when Morgan was captured near Pennsylvania.The battle proved significant as two future U.S. Presidents—William McKinley and Rutherford B. Hayes—were present, and Union Major Daniel McCook sustained mortal wounds.The event celebrates the Buffington Island Battlefield Preservation Foundation's efforts and includes memorial services, historical marker dedication, historian presentations, period music by the 73rd OVI Regimental Band, and a community picnic.RSVP by July 11, 2026 to cwrtmov@gmail.com.
