Ohio Senator Jon Husted took to the Senate floor this week and put Democrats on the spot. His ask was simple: pass a bill requiring photo ID to vote in federal elections. No riders. No games. Just voter ID.
Democrats blocked it.
The same Democrats who publicly claim they support voter ID refused to let this bill pass by unanimous consent. Husted called their bluff — and they folded.
As Ohio's former Secretary of State, Husted oversaw four statewide elections with one mission: make it easy to vote and hard to cheat. His bill accepts state driver's licenses, state IDs, U.S. passports, military IDs, and tribal IDs — the same identification Americans already use to rent a car, check into a hotel, or enter a government building.
80% of Americans support voter ID. This isn't a partisan issue — it's common sense. And Democrats just went on the record against it.
