This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) outlines our practices for online collection, use, and disclosure of your information that you provide to Ohio Republican Party ( the “Ohio GOP”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) when you use our website www.ohiogop.org (the “Site”) and engage with any services we may offer through our Site.
Please read this Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your Personal Information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use our Site. By accessing or using our Site, you agree to this Policy and our General Terms of Use (the “Terms”). We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Policy on this page. We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Site, prior to the change becoming effective. You are advised to review this Policy periodically for any changes. INFORMATION COLLECTED
When visiting our Site, we may collect personal information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personal Information may include, but is not limited to:
- Biographical information: such as name, aliases, date and place of birth, gender and gender identity.
- Contact information: such as home and business addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses, including your emergency contacts.
- By providing your phone number, you are consenting to receive calls and texts, including autodialed and automated calls and texts, to that number from Ohio Republican Party – MSG & Data rates may apply.
- Payment Information: such as billing information; our payment service providers will provide us with information about your purchase so that we know if a purchase has been successful.
- Application, recruitment, new-hire, or other engagement information: such as application forms and information included in a resume; copies of identity and immigration/work authorization documents; citizenship and residence status; background screening results and references.
- Historical career/education information: such as details of skills, qualifications, experience and preferences (e.g., mobility), training records, volunteer activities, professional memberships, educational history (college, vocational schools, high schools, etc.), transcripts.
- Internet, electronic network, and device activity information and related identifiers: such as information about your use of our information, communication, and collaboration systems, including user IDs, passwords, IP addresses, and audit trails of system access.
- Protected classification characteristics: race, national origin, citizenship, marital status, veteran or military status.
- Correspondence and Communication Data: Information you provide when communicate with us via emails, phone calls, or messages through our Site. This also includes responses to communications we send and interactions with our social media channels.
- Other Information: Any other information you provide directly or indirectly through your use of our Site. This may include data provided during interactions with our Site, or details provided during events.
USAGE DATA:
When you visit our Site, we automatically collect certain information from your device and the browsers you use. This data helps us understand how you interact with our Site and allows us to improve our Site. We automatically collect; your device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type and version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data. When you access the Site by or through a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to; the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data. We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site or when you access the Site by or through a mobile device.
USING AND SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION:
The Ohio GOP may use or share personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain our Site: including to monitor the usage of our Site.
- For the performance of a contract: the development, compliance and undertaking of the purchase contract for the products, items or services you have purchased or of any other contract with us through the Site.
- To contact You: To contact you by email, telephone calls, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, such as a mobile application’s push notifications regarding updates or informative communications related to the functionalities, products or contracted services, including the security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation.
- To provide You: with news, special offers and general information about other goods, services and events which we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about unless you have opted not to receive such information.
- To manage Your requests: To attend and manage your requests to us.
- With the Federal Election Commission (FEC) or Ohio Secretary of State (“Ohio SOS”): we may share your personal information with the FEC or Ohio SOS to report required information, including name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employers of individuals who contribute to the Ohio GOP (for additional information, visit the FEC website at https://www.fec.gov/).
- With Service Providers: We may share your personal information with third-party vendors and service providers who provide services to us for a variety of business purposes, such as identity verification, payment processing, customer service, e-mail deployment, advertising and marketing, security and performance monitoring, maintaining or servicing accounts, and processing or fulfilling orders and transactions. These third-parties collect, use, and access your data to perform their functions, and we may allow them to use information about you for their own purposes in accordance with applicable law.
- With Affiliates: We may share your personal information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Policy. Affiliates include any subsidiaries, joint venture partners or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us.
- With other users: when you share personal information or otherwise interact in the public areas with other users, such information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside.
- Legal purposes. We may disclose your personal information to respond to subpoenas, court orders, the general legal process, law enforcement requests, claims, and/or government/regulatory authority inquiries (including those made by the Internal Revenue Service and other appropriate taxing authorities), and to protect and defend the rights, interests, safety, and security of our Site, our affiliates, users, and/or the public.
- With Your consent: We may disclose your personal information for any other purpose with your consent.
- For other purposes: We may use your information for other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve our Site, products, marketing and your experience.
TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES AND COOKIES:
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Site and store certain information. Tracking technologies used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Site. The technologies we use may include:

ANALYTICS
We use service providers to help analyze how people use our Site. These service providers use cookies and similar technologies to collect information pertaining to how you use our Site. - Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Site. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Site available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity. PERSONAL INFORMATION RETENTION, SECURITY AND INTEGRITY
Your personal information will be retained only for so long as reasonably necessary, for the purposes set out herein, and in accordance with applicable law. We maintain security measures to safeguard your information from loss, theft, interference, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and/or destruction. Please note that information collected by third-parties may not have the same security protections as the information you submit to us, and we are not responsible for protecting the security of such information.
Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Site, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.
SMS
By providing your phone number and selecting to opt-in to Ohio GOP communications, you are consenting to join a recurring SMS/MMS text messaging program that will provide alerts, donation requests, updates and other important information. By providing your phone number or requesting updates or other information by mobile phone or text message (the “SMS service”) or through the Site, you expressly consent to receiving via your mobile device non-telemarketing and non-advertising text messages, including text messages sent by an automatic telephone dialing system (“ATDS” or “Autodialer”), from us or a third-party contractor we have retained for their expertise in initiating and transmitting text messages. Message frequency varies. We do not charge for this SMS service; however, your carrier’s standard messaging, data and other rates and fees still apply to any messages you send, our confirmations, and all subsequent SMS correspondence and/or transmissions.
When you opt-in to receive messages from the Ohio GOP, we will send you an SMS message to confirm your signup. You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text “STOP.” After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
We are able to deliver messages to most major mobile phone carries, subject to their applicable messaging and data rates. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and the Ohio GOP does not claim or guarantee availability, or its ability provide such service, including liability for transmission delays or message failures. No mobile information will be shared by us with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared by us with any third parties unless required by law.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The Site is not designed to solicit or collect data from individuals under the age of 13 or knowingly allow minors under the age of 13 to disclose their personal information to our Site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

The Ohio Republican Party is a U.S.-based political organization operating under U.S. federal and Ohio state law. We do not target or provide services to individuals outside the United States. Any data collected from non-U.S. visitors is incidental and not processed for targeting or monitoring purposes.
