COLUMBUS, OHIO — Ohio Senate President Rob McColley, the Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor on the ticket with gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, is drawing sharp contrast with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton — calling her record exactly what it is: a resignation tour.
“Amy Acton’s record isn’t leadership, it’s a resignation tour,” McColley said. The charge lands hard. According to the Columbus Dispatch, since 2017 Acton hasn’t held a job for more than 18 months — and she resigned as state health director after less than 16 months on the job.
McColley didn’t stop there. “When times get tough, including in 2020 when the Legislature pushed her to open county fairs she fought to shut down, Acton quit rather than take the heavy hand of government off of Ohioans’ backs. That’s not leadership. It’s more proof she’s unfit for office.” The pattern is consistent: when pressure mounts, Acton walks away.
Ohio can’t afford a governor who walks away when it gets hard. McColley’s message is clear — Acton’s history isn’t a qualification, it’s a disqualifier.
